I have two separate screens (nvidia card, no xinerama), screen 0 is CRT monitor, and screen 1 is LCD TV. CRT is connected via DVI-->VGA adapter, and TV is directly connected to VGA output. This is the only setup in which my monitor is recognized as primary :-) The problem after installing hardy is that clicking on a video file on either screen opens player window (mplayer, smplayer, totem

Nvidia kartica, ubuntu 8.04, separate screen setup, nije xinerama.

Hello, When I finished installing this Ubuntu distribution I download the latest NVidia driver for my GeForce 2 GPU. But what if I start X Window again, my monitor warns me that out of refresh frequency. I suppose that it's wired. There's my xorg.conf in /etc directory # nvidia-xconfig: X configuration file generated by nvidia-xconfig # nvidia-xconfig: version 1.0 (buildmeister@builder63

No .. Run a "locate xorg.conf" to see what "xorg.conf" file is beign used to run gnome .. Check under /usr/local/etc/X11 to see if there's xorg.conf .. If you are running gnome .. _there_has_to_be_ a xorg.conf file somewhere ... Find that file a do your edits in there. And BTW .. the code I passed on to you, are just the sections regarding the mouse and the serverlayout configuration part

My /etc/X11 directory is empty, so do I create a new file called xorg.conf and just try the code you have in it? Thanks.

Thank you for the response Baptiste. I was under the impression that Xinerama no longer worked with xorg 7.3. I tried setting up my xorg.conf both with and without it, and it seems to be having problems re-defining a device on the same PCI bus (1:0:0). I have it so that X will start up, and the dual-head card loads and 2 of my screens show, but the 3rd screen is still being difficult.
