quite a few of the books below I read as a child. Also quite a few other books mentioned in this thread. I was developmentally behind until about 11 and then something just clicked and I read voraciously. I read many many adult books but I also read children's books I'd missed when I was struggling with read... I'd have troubles figuring out the age appropriate books. So other books that meant
