Thanks for the reply, but it's the formatting in the call that I'm cutting values FROM that is getting changed. e.g., if I have a border around a cell and then move the content of that cell somewhere else, the border on the original cell goes away. If I'm assuming correctly that you are copying and pasting values from a preformatted sheet and don't want the formatting to move with the values, you can copy and instead of pasting, select "paste as . .", and paste as "value". If you are dragging for an auto fill effect, you will get a little box near the bottom of your destination cells. select that and you can choose "fill without formatting"

Access (Jet) is very particular about parentheses in the FROM clause. I think that the following may work for you, but ... SELECT RPT_LITI_MTTER_FCT.CO_NM, ManagingAtty.FULL_NM AS 'MNGNG_ATTY_NM', LegalAsst.FULL_NM AS 'LEGAL_ASST_NM' FROM (RPT_LITI_MTTER_FCT LEFT JOIN RPT_MTTER_ASGNE_FCT AS ManagingAtty ON ((ManagingAtty.MTTER_NUMB_TXT = RPT_LITI_MTTER_FCT.MTTER_NUMB_TXT) AND
