Yeah sorry it is freehand but its not that hard. There is no mystery to it. First I grind on the wet wheel or the side of the chopsaw just to rough it down, making sure not to stray over the line I want to follow. Then I switch to a coarse bench stone to even it out and make it flat and the lines straighter. Every time I put the blade on the stone I rock it a little until I can feel the flat
