You have an interesting definition of "Yanks" here that apparently includes Canadians. Or perhaps you missed that the N in NHL means Canada, and not the US? "N" stands for Canada and not "USA" - how could I have missed that...

None of American, Canadian, Australian, or Gaelic football has an event called "World Cup," so I couldn't possibly be referring to any of those.
