Rod, what I suggest is that the printings may be different. Well, if you are correct Rein, the bars must have some fail-safe measure for the print. Say for example, silver ran out (resulting in a "missing colour") then the densitometer bar colour will also be missing, right? In regards to the rest, I think you are right, Rene suggested one could plate the stamps by the positions of the bars. Perhaps we need the 50 page report as suggested in the

Rod, The densitometer bars are copyright by the supplying firms that usually have delivered the separate reading equipment. The printers print the bars simultaneuosly with the rest of the stamp designs - so not before hand!!!! - after which the reading equipment can eventually state whether there any deviations in density. It should appear to me that the densitometer bars are different
