I got a 1994 Ford Escort for free the other day and now I am trying to get to start. I jumped it to get to where I live but now it is being a piece of shit. I removed the starter and tested it with jumper cables and it worked great. I tested the hot wire to the starter and it lit right up. The black wire to the solenoid, however, shows little voltage with the key engaged. Looks like the wireing

Hi again, can anyone advise me on the interchangeability (or otherwise) of various parts of the ignition circuitry on this '03 plated Peugeot 106d 'Zen' ? As mentioned in a previous posting, ignition key was stuck in barrel, steering lock was on and no way to move (or remove) the key. I've managed to persuade the key to turn far enough for the steering lock to drop back. At the moment I'm

y'all should have seen some of those old 1950s blue and white Renault taxi cabs I rode around in, in Vietnam in 1964.No ignition keys at all, some wires dangling down under the dash boards of those French cars. If you have, or can find a blank key that slides in and out of the ignition ok, you can smoke it (use a match or a little candle or something, soot it up real good) Put it in the ignition

> So they make car keys so you cannot use them as a key nowadays? Sounds like a bad idea to me. Can they really not make secure phisical locks, or is it just to save money. It's not so much the lock barrel, but the engine immobiliser which is blocked, depending on the make of vehicle. Also the remote locking often sets an alarm, which physical unlocking with the key does not cancel
