Is there any reason you would get this for free? What kind of organisation do you work for? You are right that to install CRM you need to be using Active Directory for user authentication. Realistically if you already have a Windows server which is capable of running SQL, IIS, SSRS and CRM, promoting it to be a domain controller should not be your biggest concern, the additional overhead
