... London rarely go above 60 mph, and would not be greatly affected if permitted speeds were reduced to 50 mph. OK, a bit of an exaggeration, but same-day-return business travel to London would also become extremely unattractive. Whether that turns out to be a good or bad thing for 'the regions' is hard to say. I'm not sure how long Peter Hendy's commute (from Swindon) would last...
