I don't think there's a problem. We've been here for twenty five years and in that time I can't recall a year that the Carolina wrens haven't built over the window inside my garage right over the old nest which somehow never seems to increase in size after having reached large proportions. June 25, 2008 Summer Morning Birding: Pecan Grove and Soccer Fields and Lake Waco Hike and Bike Trail. 8:00 AM-10:15 AM, 81 F-91 F. As George Carlin says, it started out hot…got hotter…got too hot. Sunny conditions, wind not getting up until almost 10:00. It was good to be out having just been release from the doctor’s care for my left knee. It is always good to be greeted by calls and songs

May 23, 2008, Friday. Woodway Park. 8:00 AM-10:40 AM. 77-88F. It is hot and humid in Texas. The skies were overcast to begin but turned sunny by 10:00. There was a bit of wind at times. 30 species of birds were recorded. The best birds were the Roadrunners, two seen separately and at two different times; and a Common Nighthawk. I was surprised by a hummingbird but was not able to identify

March 20, 2008 Cameron Park, 8:30 AM-10:30 AM, 46F-63F, Cool, Sunny, Clear Skies. Starting at the Redwood Shelter, I moved up the river and followed the Riverside Trail to Circle Point and then returned. Eighteen Species were observed. I was able to sight a Brown Creeper by serendipity. He walked, or should I say crept, into my field of view while I was observing a Yellow-rumped Warbler in

November 15, 2007 Lake Waco Wetlands, 7:45 AM-9:30 AM, 50 F, Sunny, Cool breeze The first cell has water in it this morning. It is the only cell with water. All other cells are dry. I noticed 5 White-tailed deer near the overlook just as I arrived at the site. I am surprise to have recorded 21 species of birds on the wetlands because the numbers of individuals are very low. I noted one
