What is it with this team and the 8th. inning? Don't they know you can't have a walkoff in that inning? WOW, did I hear them says Paps hit 100 on the gun on one pitch? What a yo-yo STAR night. After Jacoby had hit the second home run for the lead he was going to be my STAR. Then after Oki got out of the bases loaded no outs jam it was going to be him. Unfortunately the 2 runs the next inning

Did I hear this right? The Yankees have taken Igawa out of the rotation? Seems extreme with the problems they have with starters right now. I guess if you consider money though it's easier from them to make this move than it would be for the Sox with Dice-K. For whom the seemingly endless list of firsts continues with his first game in Yankee Stadium and first against Matsui. Why do I think we'll

Boy this thing with the team with the best record getting to choose whether they start with 3 or 4 days rest sure does make setting up the post season rotations interesting. Or does it?   How will it affect the Sox or Angels (It looks like it will be them.) rotation plans. I'm surprised that no one has had anything to say about Colon and his refusal to come back from home and the Sox subsequent

Gee, sometimes I wish the winning team was decided by whose starter lasts longer. <G> This game was kind of like that old medical saying that the operation was a success but the patient died (Oh wait, maybe that's not all that funny a joke for me right now.), in that Lester seems to be maturing right before our eyes by recovering nicely to go 7 innings. I gather the magic number stays at 2

I got motivated to get up early and do this this morning in hopes to have it done before my fresh muffin bearing (I hope. Hey it's a nice perk.) gets here. A little different this morning in that I'm going to do the plus detail here and just list them sans comment down below: Lots of good last night, in roughly chronological order: Byrd pitched adequately once again earning the quality

Last night things went just fine. Until the end of the first half inning that is. Then it straightened out around about the 6th. inning or so.   Of course by then it was well too late. Oh, and my buddy G. is dead on about Pauley. He does get pounded pretty hard any time he pitches. Not that it mattered by then. Although I never really had the sense that they were out of this one. Right up until

Well I'm back from a very long day in Dartmouth, one which involved a major decision on my part (Hint: I wore my Bay t-shirt thinking it didn't matter if I offended the neurologist, a Yankee fan remember, because he wasn't going to get another shot at my brain. Turns out that may have been a mistake. <G>), which I'll detail in a separate post. And thanks again to Nate for covering for me once

First I want to comment on this game being played at all. I know they have the two games today already scheduled but the risk to players getting injured seemed high. It's just too bad there wasn't another option. The rain outs throughout MLB is going to make figuring out the standings interesting today though isn't it? It could go from the Sox being 4 games out to them being tied for first
