I've got a problem on my laptop (Solaris Express Community Edition snv_95 X86). The problem is one I have experience before, which is a high load average for no good reason. Look at the following from prstat. Nothing is using a lot of CPU time, but the load average is quite high. Thanks to Roger Rosenbaum for sending me the 1956 Crowhurst ideas on OPT design. Crowhurst expresses some basically solid ideas for OPT design and particularly he promotes GOSS C cores instead of E&I lams because the core permeabiity ( ยต ) is 3 times higher than old E&I lams, therefore 3 times the inductance can be had for "free" with the same size of core leg area and turns for each type
