Great news! 1: If the Inbox2.dbx has nothing in it, just delete it with OE closed. You can also delete the one on the Desktop now that your messages are back. 2: You are doing that correctly. Holy cow.....it worked. You have saved my bacon....since there was already a second Inbox.dbx in the message store, to avoid problems, I renamed it Inbox2.dbx and then renamed the Inbox.bak in the message store to Inbox.dbx. Then I closed the message store and opened OE....everything was back!!!!!! Now, some other related questions: 1) what should I do with the Inbox2.dbx that I have in

You pretty much have it. The reason you drag the Inbox to the Desktop is twofold. 1: You can't rename a file to Inbox.dbx if one already exists. 2: If all else fails, you can run an extraction tool on the Inbox you saved to the Desktop. >Now, if i understand correctly, you want me to close OE, to leave the >Inbox.dbx >on my desktop, go to the message store and rename the Inbox.bak
