Right click on the toolbar at the bottom of the screen, then click on Task Manager, then Processes, then WinMail.exe, then End Process. It may require approval. Windows Mail does not have an archiving process like Outlook. To backup email in Windows Mail: File, Export, Messages, Microsoft Windows Mail, then pick an empty folder on your hard drive. Then, you can delete the backed-up emails from within the WM mail folders. However, that hard drive folder is not directly accessible from WM, should you require access to the backed-up email. Hi Gary, Thanks for the information. Can i save the Windows mail locally.. What is mean is, in Outlook there are .pst files associated for every new acount you create... Can do the same here in Windows Mail? If you are used to Outlook, why not move that copy of Outlook 2003 to your Vista machine? No, you can't password-protect Windows Mail. If you need security, use a password-protected Windows user login.
