To see if you have the patch, check HPSWINFO.PUB.SYS. Or, simply replace the contents of TZTAB.LIB.SYS with the following: # @(#) HP C/iX Library A.75.01 2007-03-01 # Mitteleuropaeische Zeit, Mitteleuropaeische Sommerzeit MEZ-1MESZ 0 3 25-31 3 1983-2038 0 MESZ-2 0 2 24-30 9 1983-1995 0 MEZ-1 0 2 25-31 10 1996-2038 0 MEZ-1 # Middle European Time, Middle European Time Daylight

Hi there I am getting a strange message in my dmesg after installation FreeBSD 7-production-release on my Dell 2950 with 2 x CPU 3,0 GHz Intel Xeon L5450 Quad-Core 2x6MB cache. I have googled but didn't get any clue what it is and why I am getting this problem... is it Processor related or driver related for FreeBSD? Any advice and help is welcomed... a quote from dmesg....: acpi_hpet0

Read the handbook. It has section on customizing the kernel source explaining what you can comment out of the source. About adding one of the firewalls into the kernel, it's a waist of time. When you put the appropriate firewall statements in /etc/rc.conf the selected firewall module is dynamically loaded for you. Read the handbook firewall section. -----Original Message----- From: owner-freebsd

I'm using a Suse linux system. I was under the impression that changing the TZ variable changes your local session timezone , eg: export TZ=EST All it does however is change the timezone string printed by 'date', it doesn't change the clock at all. I can do export TZ=EST5 which will set the clock back (I'm in the UK) but I don't want to have to manually tell it how many hours behind another

I'm using the FreeBSD SMB/CIFS layer for authentication to remote Windows shared resources in a domain ( smbutil(1), mount_smbfs(8), nsmb.conf(5) ). I've ran into the following situation: 1. Listing the password literally (in the clear) in nsmb.conf allows me to authenticate against the Windows domain and access resources successfully. 2. Listing the password's crypt (using 'smbutil crypt'

Given the range of hardware combinations possible in a given vendor, that's a painful question to try
