I am trying to create a master select query to manage both US and Asia/Europe employee info. I have live access via linked ODBC table to our US employees master data. So I want to populate the query and related fields via lookup for US employees and manually enter the fields for Asia/Europe empoloyees. How do I set a query field to populate with linked data, if available, or allow manual

Can the formulas be put in with the table - ie does the table come from you as a template? I tend to look for solutions without macros - one way is to point all the formulas in the "report" workbook to the "data" workbook. If all the data workbooks have consistent naming format that just changes the month ie dataJUL08 dataJun08, then build the set of formulas with then pointing to Jun08

Hello Customer, Thank you for your update. And also thank Cliff for the good input. I agree with Cliff, you need to reconfigure the IP schema of your SBS network. I suggest the network topology as following: {Internet}=={router/firewall}=={switch}=={SBS and internal clients} Therefore, the IP configuration like below: Router/firewall external NIC: IP Address: 67.91.25.162 Subnet

Based on the IP config you posted? Yes. As are *all* the clients, so it seems. Especially if it is a Linksys, go ahead and replace it. With a single NIC SBS (no ISA) you should definitely consider a good firewall device. Just try to get into a business class device. Avoid the consumer stuff you'd find on a shelf at best buy. -Cliff "SOLONY" <SOLONY@discussions.microsoft.com

Cliff thanks for that reply. The situation is a little worse and I did not think it was necessary to mention but I inherieted this from another IT person and I never got a chance to speak to him. I thought that DNS info was a little odd. I could not think of why he used a subnet since there are only 6 or 7 workstations even though one is for testing new empoloyees. What do you think I

Hi Ctreate a form with your dropdown list. Use the afterupdate event of the combo to open the query Open the query in design view and in the ID column (criteria row) use the build wizard to point to the combo box you have just created. This will filter the query and then open it -- Wayne Manchester, England. "Muzzy" wrote: I have created some simple databases before

Roger, You wrote... That took care of my initial question, very simple indeed. I do have unique data in each record, it's the person's name. Even though your names are unique now, they may not be in the future, and I would strongly recommend you reconsider your table design. Create a new empty table, with the same fields as your original table... but... add and EmpID autonumber
