OK, I am glad to hear that some of you have no trouble at all to set up Firebird. Can someone tell me now exactly what I would have to do to set it up with Comcast.net? It is no harder to configure than MS Outlook, MS Outlook Express, Windows Mail, or Windows Live Mail. I use Thunderbird successfully with a variety of email services, including

Hi Shawn, the same thing was happening to me. I tried this, and it seemed to work: 1. Exit Messenger. 2. Go to the accounts services page https://account.live.com 3. Go to Profiles, Edit shared profiles, Messenger appearance, change the Display name to something other than your email address. 4. Wait 5 minutes. Log into Messenger. The first time I did those steps my display name was

Hi Shawn, Oh. I know what you've done -- you've linked your Live IDs together haven't you? This is a known bug, not quite sure what they're going to do about it. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger/MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com All posts unless

Thanks Jonathan...following that link you sent while logged in with my new ID, takes me back to that "Verification not needed Your e-mail address has either already been verified or it doesn't require verification." page. Any ideas? "Jonathan Kay [MVP]" wrote: Greetings, You should automatically get a verification e-mail to that new address within 24 hours of changing it

Greetings, You should automatically get a verification e-mail to that new address within 24 hours of changing it. You can also have it resent to you here: https://account.live.com/verifysi.aspx?mkt=en-us&rp=summarypage although if you've contacted support, they'll do it for you. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger/MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger Associate Expert

I recently switched my Live ID to a new one, and imported the contacts from my old account to the new one in Live Messenger. When logging in, I'm greeted with a notice that I need to verify my email address with Windows Live Messenger. I follow the link, go through the steps, and end up at a page that says "Verification not needed. Your e-mail address has either already been verified or

drkc, Thanks for the response. When you say "Sounds like you have a DNS issue", wouldn't this apply to any and all email addresses that have the same someone@yahoo.com email address? Why would it single out one specific email address? In the meantime, I'll scan through the DNS event log looking for anything related to this issue and posted it back here. Thanks, Thomas "drkc"
