... the default version control system that gets invoked is rcs. I wonder if this (default) is the best advice to a noob?? I use rcs for my own casual use and svn for group projects. rcs requires no setup and is well integrated into emacs. For svn, I am using kdesvn, which worked so well out of the box that I have not yet explored the various emacs interfaces. -- Mike Treseler
