hi, mplayer-in-Debian has a specific patch debian/patches/22disable-xscreensaver.dpatch that I prepared (based on code posted in mplayer-dev-eng by Adam Tlałka), so that it will inhibit all possible screensavers; it works by moving the pointer around when it is invisible (so you do not see it, but the screensaver detects motion, and thats enough). Note that, in my desktop the cursor is invisible
