Herewith are my impressions of two performances by Zubin Mehta of the Bruckner Seventh: Berlin Phil from 13 Mar 1982 (the Lucky Ball disc mentioned by Ramon) and L.A. Phil from 2003 (exact date unknown to me, but at the conclusion Mehta says it'll be his last performance with the L.A. Phil in Dorothy Chandler Pavilion). In Berlin Mehta plays Haas, but in L.A. he plays Nowak. Both performances

Thanks to everyone for the responses. The general tone of these responses seems a little too cautionary to me. I might have given the wrong impression of the level. I don't play violin, and certainly don't teach it, but I know what the kids are already doing. I have accompanied this group on the piano. These are bright kids and the teacher is good as well as ambitious. Members of the class
