I think my last post is gone. I indicated I didn't have it set up right. Thanks for the suggestion. That was one problem. The other is that I just realized I have a dual tuner - now I have to go back and read the second link you gave me. Thanks so much, Jason. I think you have me on the right track. -- Bobbie J. No matter what channel I put MC on, I get the channel currently on the box. This means no recording. :-( -- Bobbie J. Media Center does not support playback or recording of true high definition signal from a cable box or satellite receiver. Instead all channels, in both standard and high

Using MC2005 edition with Windows XP. Everything was working beautifully when cable attached directly to computer. Got new HDTV Digital cable box and now I can only get a picture on MC channel 4. It shows whatever the box is tuned to. I know I can't get HDTV through Media Center, but it states that the signal will still come though. Screen (guide) shows what is supposed to be showing

Is the situation any better or different in Europe, Japan, China, elsewhere... Everyone invovled should be ashamed at how HD been implemented (cable companies deliberately downgrading shows already in wide resolutions (amost said "HD") to 4x3, siteing complaints about black bars. Funny how paying double for HD service & even HD-cable all came hand-in-hand. I "John Lockwood" wrote:
