In Control Panel/Sounds and Audio Devices, there is a button for "Device connect" and one for "Device disconnect." (As, for example, if you plug or unplug something into a USB port.) My computer occasionally makes these sounds---always in pairs only seconds apart---for no reason... (I have not plugged in or unplugged a device.) This does not seem to cause any problem with...
