Since there has been a real shortage of folks with commissions in the USN/USNR responding I will (having had a long period of active and reserve service to learn the drill). In the case of male officers (and the drill as practiced from long before WWII until 1990 or so)... ENSs, LTJGs, LTs, and LCDRs, were unfailingly to be addressed as "Mister". To use the rank in other than Third Person

Akackley (Alan) said he had a movei he depserately wanted to watch but the disc it was on had gone bad. So I told him, send it to me and I'll bet ya I can fix it for you. So Alan sends me 2 discs, same movie on each. Both discs are bad. I run surface scans, the discs are bad at the level of the media-- polishing these pups won't help, they won't rip -- they abort with SENSE ERROR. No problemo
