... than those that shop weekly. Thus the little and often shoppers waste more. More unnecessary pollution. Negligible. Tiny in fact, especially as it helps to minimise consumption by providing feeddback. Bullshit. Any Doug use of electricity is negligible. IF anyone else did it, it would be classed as energy intensive. I only please one person per day. Today is ...

... are about power, amongst other things. Why ask "How does this relate to RMS watts?" in relation to the power consumption of a CPU? You do realise that the PSU supplies only DC current, don't you? No of course ... in overall power comsumption IIRC, not just the CPU. So what you really meant was "what would be the total power consumption for a system based on this CPU?"

Palindrome wrote: Hi, If you have read the thread on NAS boxes, you will know that I often use laptops in 24x7 roles, because of their low electrical power consumption. I was just wondering if anyone *did* have a mobo + processor (p4 mobile, perhaps?) for sale that didn't gorge on electricity? Ideally with SATA and USB2 (or a couple of PCI slots) and gigabit LAN (or ...

...LAN may up the price a little. Intel have a cheap D945GCPE board, but 100Mbit LAN not gigabit, it is also PCI card only - but fine for a NAS box, onboard graphics. Very similar power consumption to a P3-Tualatin, but about 3x quicker. Any cheap motherboard with a basic processor won't use much power for instance an old Duron 1.3 on a basic board I've just tested uses only about ...
