Thanks for your comments. I was concerned about things like confused archive bits. Since several credible folks on this group use Acronis, I plan to buy it. However I still plan to continue using MS Backup & Restore, especially for the convenience of shadow files. I will backup using MS to an external drive and using Acronis to DVD. I tend to agree ...
