In my opinion, WLM is better because it has benefitted from a longer development period. Several bugs that exist in WM have been fixed in WLM. WLM also has additional features not found in WM, such as Hotmail access, and auto-correction of commonly misspelled words. The user interface is different, and some people prefer one program over the other simply because of how the look and feel suits
