That's strange - none of my firewire ports nor neither of my two video cameras have had problems at all with Vista. The camera shouldn't be in question here. If you turn off the computer and pull the plug from the wall for ten seconds to *completely* shut down the computer, does the firewire port wake up on next reconnect?
