... of pins? The ground crew collect the pins from the cockpit as soon as the aircraft is on the parking stand, and use those. AFAIAA the ground crew do not have any "spare" sets of pins. What if they couldn't find any pins in the cockpit? This could mean either that they were left behind at the previous airport, or they are stowed in the wrong place - but they won't know which.
