GASP 8 to 12 wards in a stake??? That might depend on where you are in the world. Here would be my explanation of the terms: Most people are to some extent familiar with Catholic terminology, so I translate in comparative terms - Ward = local congregation, or equivalent to "parish" presided over by a "Bishop" A branch is essentially a small ward, either in an area where the church
