I am trying to capture music videos using Windows Media Encoder 9 in wmv format and burn them into DVDs with the Windows DVD Maker provided with Vista 32 Premium. Earlier, I have done this capturing 3 to 4 minute video music songs in mpeg-2 format using ATI and VideoMate cards and Nero for authoring and burning the DVDs. For what you want, just use your ATI All-in-wonder. For recording TV, I don't recommend them as they are software encoding cards (as opposed to cards with hardware encoders), but you're not going to be doing it forever and likely not multiple at the same time. At least try it and see if you like it. The card at Dell is an oddity. I'd have to guess it is fairly old. For what you want

My experience with the ATI video capture and tuner cards has not been positive. Shortly after installation, it stopped working, so I tried to reinstall the drivers. That failed, so I tried to uninstall all of the drivers and start from scratch. It refused to uninstall. Then when I tried to reinstall, it failed because it detected the previous installation.
