yep, always start the test system as cold. no LCD or GCD on 2.3, but can reformat the RSD. // EXEC DFHSIP,PARM='SIT=CO,SI',DSPACE=4M START=COLD FCT=OD,TCT=OD GRPLIST=VSELSTO -----Original Message----- From: owner-vse-l@Lehigh.EDU [mailto:owner-vse-l@Lehigh.EDU]On Behalf Of industrynews@winwholesale.com Sent: Monday, September 15, 2008 2:43 PM To: VSE Discussion List Subject: RE: cics

I once used TSO ISRDDN in an application that had its own command table, i.e. one where RFIND had been defined as 'PASSTHRU'. This meant the RFIND command didn't work. Since then, I've always been sure to use DDLIST instead of TSO ISRDDN. Interesting what some consider a "benefit". I suppose IBM used that rationale as well. I consider it a shortcoming so much so that I usurp the entry in ISPCMDS with one in USERCMDS that specifies PASSLIB as well as NEWAPPL(ISR). I do so to have my ALTLIB settings honoured. I agree that using NEWAPPL(ISR) is better than straight TSO ISRDDN. NEWAPPL eliminates potential conflict/confusion with command

Chris, I only want to help someone ! I told his/her to communicate via mail, because I cannot access the newsgroup from my mobile phone and he/she told me that he/she was blocked ! Steve There was some offer to exchange information privately earlier in the thread and so I thought that must be where the emphasis on CICS had come from, my "tangent". I checked in the Google digest of the thread and nowhere does EssKay mention he - could be a "she" I guess - wants to access CICS. Unless I've had a blind spot the only qualification other than just EE is that he/she wants

Hi Sujit, With TCPIP you can directly connect to CICS, but your security part TOP Secret or RACF will not be used. So SNA/IP is better for security !!! To define a new Logmode : member SY.VTAM.INSTLIB(LOGMODES) Add this to this member and VARY it afterwards : DFHLU62P MODEENT LOGMODE=DFHLU62P,COS=ROUTH001,APPNCOS=#CONNECT, SESS X FMPROF=X'13', TSPROF=X'07',PRIPROT

Looks to me like a good example for starting the DB2 interface. But I question the statement about having later programs in the PLT that use DB2. The started SQLI task in this will not start until all PLTPI programs have completed as documented in the CICS Customization Guide: =============== Although PLTPI programs can issue interval control START commands, the requested transactions are not
