Ironically I had ran accross Bamboo the other day, but it doesn't resolve my issue either. I'm going to a vendor hosted SharePoint seminar next week, so I'll post a comment if I can get an answer to my question. Thanks. -Jeff "Conklin, Tom" wrote: > Jeff - I ended up cross posting this, and someone came up with this > solution - It doesn't realy help my issue by it may be someothing

Jeff - I ended up cross posting this, and someone came up with this solution - It doesn't realy help my issue by it may be someothing worth looking at for yourself - TomSyr Tom you got me to thinking about this. I did some looking around and the only thing I found was from Bamboo. But it seems there should be a another way to do this. http://store.bamboosolutions.com/p-4-user-account-setup

They are built-in with the operating system. LDIFDE will import/export and modify objects. CSVDE will import/export but cannot modify current objects. Jorge: Thanks for the post. As I just mentioned in my reply to Richard, I have checked every tab and dialog box in the AD msc, but there is nothing displaying the old users name. As for replication - These accounts were renamed months ago, so I'm pretty sure that replication is not the issue. "Jorge Silva" wrote: Hi - Check if the replication of changes already ocurred to

Richard: Thanks very much for the post - great information. Unfortunately, I have already modified the "pre-windows 2000 logon" without any improvement. I have the exchange 2003 snap-in installed also, and trust me when I say I believe I have looked under every tab & clicked every button to see other dialog boxes... there's nothing showing the old users name, which leads me to believe

Joe: I can understand why you might feel that way, but the bottom line is: why provide the option if it doesn't work? There are significant - let me reiterate - SIGNIFICANT advantages to renaming accounts rather that rebuilding them. Maybe in your environment it's easier to create a new account, but im my environment it is not. "Joe D" wrote: it is very poor thinking to "reuse"

Hi - Check if the replication of changes already ocurred to the DC that WSS is using. - Check the user properties and make sure that you did change the needed attributes, for example you may have changed the Diaplay name, but the account logon name may differ. -- =================================== I hope that the information above helps you. Have a Nice day. Jorge Silva MCSE, MVP

There are several "name" attributes of user objects. When you rename the user account, you modify the value of the "cn" (Common Name) attribute. This is the field labeled "name" in ADUC. In addition, there is also the "pre-Windows 2000 logon name", which is on the "Account" tab in ADUC and is the value of the sAMAccountName attribute. This name is also called the NT name of the user and is
