You missed the point. New unit sales only tells part of the story. Sooner or later, consumers will wake up and realize that they cannot aford a cheap car! If they pay $30,000 for a GM, but have to buy a new one every three years then over a 9 year period they have spent $90,000 - plus interest - on "cars". Why do that when you could buy a Japanese car for, say, $45,000 that will last the same
