Dee Dee suggested: If you have the money, forget the elbow grease and buy yourself a stainless steel pot and keep it under the stairwell. Buy him a plastic bucket at the Dollar Store or Big Lots. Agreed, as far as the SS pot, but you can save a buck by letting him keep the aluminum one. (It might be wise to keep the SS one locked up.)

My son took my big Aluminum Stock Pot outside and used it as a bucket to wash his car. I didnt realize he had done this and it was left outside for about a week. It has since gotten a white corrosion on the bottom of the inside of the pot and I cant seem to find anything that will remove this. Any suggestions? I would prefer not to use harsh chemicals, or is it safe to still use it?
