I just saw and ad on TV for the Lyric hearing aid. Is this new or has it been available for a while? And is it the same as the Songbird that used to be on the market? It's not available in my area but I am just curious about it. The ad said it would be growing and would be available in other areas at a later date. I'm not even sure I would be interested in it, but was intrigued.

Hi again - have traveled up and down I-95 fm NJ before locating in FL. I am in the property management biz - thus if you and/or someone else reading this, pleased to be of service in terms of finding a rental. Biz is busy. Thank God, I finally decided to buy a pair of SIEs! A good weekend to you, and all. Wayne "Ritter 197" <Ritter197@comcast.net> wrote in message news:j42

Hello WGD, I ended up with an Oticon Delta 4000. I believe that the most important part of an hearing aid is the process called fitting by the audiologists. A well fitted "cheapy" is better than a not so well fitted top of the line "instrument". I find that it is very wise to obtain optimal fit for a low cost hear- ing aid (often referred to as an "entry level model") before going to

Thanks for the enlightenment. I would absolutely go back to the audiologist and tell them what you told us. They are getting a good portion of the moneys you paid when you got the hearing aids. That is their JOB to make the customer happy with the adjustments which they can make. I also think that AFTERWARDS they should give you a free hearing test of spoken words or sentences, because otherwise

GR What did you end up buying? Please so far? There are MANY good products out there. While someone commented about selecting the least expensive surgeon, that comment not withstanding, I truly "see" no difference between a $3k instrument and a $1k instrument. Someday, I may learn to the contrary. You see, I remain open-minded. Wayne Sunny and Mild today, Sarasota, FL "NoSpam"

The old aids were Digifocus and the new aids are Oticon Syncro (power) aids. Ritter 197 wrote: That is very interesting --- 10 years old and the Oticon's were even better? A friend recently wrote me about my hearing aid experiences. Here is my reply (SORRY for its length). Not as educated as many in the group, I am an EE and (most often) understand the INs and OUTs. BTW for those who might want to skip all the stuff below, DO read the last paragraph. Comments from others on this particular subject will be appreciated. Good Evening - ( 6:20 pm here in Sunny

Hello Ritter, Thank you for your interest. I have had the aids for too long to return them. My hope is, that I will find the courage to go back to the audiologist and ask him to give me the exact curve to which the adjustment had been made. I may then be able to figure out what additional adjustments I should ask for. It is however true that there is some improvement in my ability to understand
