I'm looking at replenishing my aging stock of .45 ACP. I run a FIFO for ammunition and I'm on my last 600 rounds of 1970's era military hardball. I need to start thinking about what to replace it with. Most likely targets are large (100+ lb.) feral dogs or human target. I'm not looking for ammunition to use punching holes in paper. As stated earlier, these cases are steel, manufactured in 1943 in Eau Claire (EC) (Wisconsin) Army ammunition plant. In 1943, to aid in conserving copper which was in critical short supply, Army decided to emulate Germans in producing steel cartridge cases for certain calibers.
