The Nikon has a "NEF" format (RAW). How did you expand it 400%%? Just curious! Thanks Paul I recently bought the 70-300 VR lense and it is fantastic. I took a hand held photo of a Boeing 757 taking off from the Renton, WA airport. I enlarged the original RAW image 400 per cent and there was no blur, it was absolutely sharp. I bought the Nikon D60 because I liked the focusing characteristics in manual mode a bit better than the Canon. its important that I can focus with or without my progressive lenses on.
