Actually, all you have to do is to start typing in the name column and you will get the list and you can use the up/down arrow etc. You only need to click on the icons on the grid if you are not billing items but direct accounts. Run a compact, decompile, compact on the database. If it still won't let you deselect the reference, get Access to create a new database without it. Create a new (blank) database.
